How to handle 'difficult' student?

Sukhairan micro teaching today raised one scenario which i had experienced personally and that was of a student who used vulgarities outrightly in front of the teacher and continued to do so and disrupt the class despite several harsh warnings form the teacher.
Thus i would like to get opinions from my colleagues as to how we should handle such 'difficult' students. Some strategies i could think of;
1) Make the student stand on the corner - to actually isolate him from the rest
2) Bring him to the principals office - pass the burden to the school DM (however it may temporarily disrupt the class)
3) Ignore - to avoid any personal confrontation (hoping that he will mellow down)

Any other better and tactful ways?
